Lo Split Payment è un meccanismo di pagamento elettronico che consiste nella suddivisione del pagamento tra il fornitore di beni o servizi e l’Erario. Utilizzando lo Split Payment, la società di produzione elettronica verserà solo i 780 euro corrispondenti al prezzo del software alla società di servizi informatici, mentre i restanti 220 euro di IVA verranno trasferiti direttamente all’Agenzia delle Entrate dalla società di servizi informatici.
Lo Split Payment viene utilizzato soprattutto in alcuni settori in cui la possibilità di evasione fiscale è elevata, come ad esempio il commercio all’ingrosso di beni di lusso, i servizi di telecomunicazioni e quelli informatici.
Il meccanismo dello Split Payment è stato introdotto in Italia nel 2015 e successivamente esteso a molte altre nazioni dell’Unione Europea. L’obiettivo principale di questa modalità di pagamento è quello di contrastare l’evasione fiscale e aumentare la trasparenza nelle transazioni commerciali.
